The house with an area of 125m ²,is a storey addition to a statically insufficient old stone building. The light metal frame construction and drywall panels were chosen, achieving both the seismic behaviour of the construction as well as the reduction of the weight of the building by four to five times compared to a conventional construction. The aim of the design was the functional use of space despite the commitments of the contour of the old building, the transparency and a sense of fluent space flooded with light. The many constraints and high standards led ultimately to a design from the inside out, while the configuration of the facades was determined by simple geometric forms and partially visible metallic structure. The whole shell is designed as a double insulated and ventilated with controlled routing of electrical networks. The choice of orientation, the flexible ventilation as well as the use of an eco fireplace with hot air, significantly decreased the heat loss and supplemented the passive energy system. In all phases of construction new materials have been studied and used and special construction details were designed.
